Professor Patrick Murray is the Head of Flight Operations & Training at Aviation Australia, the Part 142 Training Provider. Patrick holds postgraduate qualifications in Aviation Management, lectures in Aviation Management, Safety and Human Factors and his current research projects include regional airline safety and efficiency; evidence based training for airline pilots and pilot aptitude testing. Patrick has an extensive background within the aviation industry as a pilot, instructor and Manager, with the broad perspective of having held senior positions in the military, a major international airline and the Australian Civil Aviation Safety Authority where he was Group General Manager of Air Transport Operations. He has been awarded fellowships of the Royal Aeronautical Society, The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport and the Australian Institute of Management. Patrick is also a Professor of Aviation at the University of Southern Queensland and has been a member of the LOSA Collaborative since its formation.
