Captain Priya Adhikari, born and raised in the capital of Nepal, Kathmandu, has completed a bachelor’s degree in environmental science and a master in business administration.
After catching the flying bug as a flight attendant in one of the domestic airlines in Nepal, Captain Adhikari decided to become a helicopter pilot and trained in the Philippines before returning to Nepal. While there were other female pilots, Captain Adhikari has gone on to become the first female captain in Nepal.
Captain Adhikari will be speaking about flying operations in some of the most challenging terrain and weather conditions on Earth, including during the intensive rescue operations following the devastating Nepal earthquake in April 2015.
